365 Day Photo Challenge

Everyday there is something.  Everyday we can have the opportunity to recognize and appreciate that which we have seen on countless occasions.  Opportunities to acknowledge life in its joyous and painful beauty are often wasted in the malaise of every day life.  For a year I walked with my trusty Olympus E520 as means to capture this beauty to the best of my ability.  These are a few of my favorites and the rest you may peruse at your leisure here: http://eb-one-a-day.tumblr.com/

Hiking at Hoffman Hills.
"When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." - John Muir

Water droplet in a sink.
"The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I woke up for no reason way to early.
"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour." - William Blake

That church on that one corner in Menomonie, WI.
"I think there is no suffering greater than what is caused by the doubts of those who want to believe.”
- FlanneryO’Conner

My nephew's baptism.
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality."  - Albert Einstein
New Years Day.  Happened to be in the right place at the right time.
"Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away." - Marcus Aurelius

Driving home from camping I spotted an abandoned burned down house.
"You can never go home again, but the truth is you can never leave home, so it's all right." -Maya Angelou

Went for a walk with my roommates.
Aragorn: "What do you fear my lady?"
Éowyn: "A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them and all chance of valor has gone beyond recall or desire." - The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers
Freed some dandelion seeds.
"Life loves the person whodares to live it."- Maya Angelou
Reunited some turtles on my run.
"Love endures, it clings away. When asked to leave, it begs to stay". - Carbon Leaf  "Let Your Troubles Roll By"
Camping. After it stopped raining, the smoke from the campfires combined with the damp air making visible light rays.
"From within or from behind, a light shines through us upon things, and makes us aware that we are nothing, but the light is all."- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Went for a run looking for something. Found this.
Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure." - Chris McCandless
Stumbled upon a field full of butterflies.
"Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul."
- Max Ehrmann "Desiderata"

A sunrise sunflower.
"We shall not cease from exploration,
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
- T.S. Eliot
