Defining a Mobile Landscape
Roads and highways are veins of civilization, cutting through the land setting up new ways of viewing the landscape. It is by way of these veins that a cultural landscape is informed. In furtherance of studying the idea of highways as cultural landscapes, I took a road trip through the golden state, California. My goal was to be connected with the landscape in motion. I searched for experience rather than function.

This exploration was made possible by the DeBoer Travel Grant from Rutgers University. The photographs have been exhibited at the university and a local gallery in New Brunswick.
