One of the assigned projects in my college experience was to design an entire magazine with a partner.. In the assignment we could choose what our magazine will be designed around. This also developed our critical thinking because we had to write one of the articles and the rest could be borrowed articles.
Both me and my partner decided to choose to design a seasonal magazine, I designed the Summer Issue and my partner designed the Winter Issue. This magazine had a Modified Column Grid Structure allowing us to lay out text fields and pictures in very unique ways. This magazine focused on extreme sports, so we incorporated striking visuals combining imagery with design elements into the spreads.
