Combat Blindness International • 2015 SPOT Treatment Focus

I produced this video in partnership with Combat Blindness International (combatblindness.org), a vision-focused non-profit based in Madison, Wisconsin. CBI and I worked in connection with two of their community partners - Huegel Elementary School and the Madison Metropolitan School District - to document the ways that CBI's partnership has helped improve and increase the quality of vision screenings that the district offers to Madison schools.

Fabu • Mary Lou Williams: Remember Me Performance Video

This video sequence features poetic text written by Fabu, a past poet laureate of Madison, Wisconsin, as part of her October 11, 2013 performance: "Mary Lou Williams: Remember Me." The video features spoken word elements performed by Fabu (as herself) and by Theola Carter (as Mary Lou Williams) and contains an imagined conversation between Fabu and the late Mary Lou Williams.

This piece includes a mixture of photography taken of Mary Lou during her lifetime and photography that I produced using Theola Carter as a hand & arm model.

Blackhawk Church • “Love Is” Teaching Series • 2016 Promo

This video was created as a promo for a Blackhawk Church message series focused on 1 Corinthians 4:3-8. The series explored the multiple ideas of and aspects of love presented within this section of the New Testament.

The promo was created through a series of short interviews conducted with Blackhawk Church attendees on a typical Sunday morning, who were asked to fill in the ending of the phrase "Love is..."

Blackhawk Church • 50th Anniversary Retrospective • April 26, 2015

Blackhawk Church celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 26, 2015 and featured this short retrospective on the history of the congregation. This video was produced using a mixture of archival photography and newly shot footage of prior church locations color-graded to integrate with the historical photography.

Blackhawk Church • “Wrecked” Teaching Series 2015 • Cat Book Club Video

I produced this video with collaboration from Tucker Boyd and Brady Parks, created originally as a sermon illustration for a message in the "Wrecked" / Book of Job message series at Blackhawk Church in early 2015. Blackhawk thanks Kristin & Andy Davis, plus their sons, Delton, Bennett & Heath for their help wrangling cats for this video. It is possible for hundreds of children to learn about Jesus and his love for us each Sunday because of the hundreds of volunteers who selflessly give their time.
This video features footage collected at all three of Blackhawk's church sites in 2014 and focuses on the volunteers serving on a weekly basis at each of those sites.

Blackhawk Church • Backpack Bonanza 2014 Promo

A promotional video for Blackhawk’s seventh annual Backpack Bonanza - an annual effort to help the underserved students across Dane County, Blackhawk Church is partnering with schools, community organizations and local partners to provide school supplies, calculators and backpacks. This allows a child to start on equal footing with their fellow students and provides them with confidence for the school year. In this video, Shannon Stevens, a local social worker at O'Keeffe Middle School, provides further background on the direct impact that donated goods have in the lives of the students that receive them.
