Holi originates from a Sanskrit word pronounced as "houli". Holi literally means "sharing of Love". Love is shown by sprinkling colours on one another joyfully dancing and playing   with colours and water. Holi celebration begins on the full moon day that falls during the spring season. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival in which people go crazy about colours, it in fact embraces positive vibes around the world to overcome the evil by goodness. It is simply merrymaking where everyone are equal without any discriminations. A bonfire is set in some parts of India during holi celebrations to devastate their inner evil by performing religious rituals in front of the bonfire. Henceforth holi can be called "The festival of colours", colours being sprayed on one another in different forms that signifies joy and love.
