The assignment was to create anarchitectural concept for travelers who seek a temporary feeling of home in thefamous Rainbow Beach in Australia - a small village wherethousands of backpackers descend for a short pitstop.
It was important that this place would provide facilities forthe world-traveler to mentally recharge for transit.
The basis of this design is an open structure. The buildingsrise diagonally from the ground, creating accessibility to the surroundingvillage from any angle.
The roofs are covered in grass, producing an organic visual ofmerged buildings with surroundings.
