Concept Summary:
My vision behind the proposed EXPO Logo can be summed up by "Achievements", "Goals" and "Developmen".
Not to mention the determination to reach the top without looking back.
Dubai’s achievements have made the “the sky is the limit” a very attainable goal but not the finish line, as there isn’t one. Because of this vision, there is no ‘box’ to think outside of since there are no limits to development and achievements, and hence how Dubai has become a strong competitor overcoming all challenges.
Dubai exceeded expectations and showed the world that Cooperation, Perseverance and Team-Work are the foundation of excellence.
Under the leadership & vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, everything became clear.
HH defined leading by example by his love for his people, and his constant initiatives that are with the core objective of the wellbeing of his people, the infrastructure, knowledge as well as his perseverance to make sure Dubai is always #1.
HH is always the first to acknowledge achievements and the rewarding of the hard working people behind them, since the success of one is the success of all. And because of this, HRH is an example locally and the residents of this city feel association, a sense of belonging to a team, and even a family. The reason is simple, HRH instilled genuine love for his people, and the city, and walks within the people proudly loved and safe.
In all of his successes, he lifted his hand and gestured with his fingers. Not for himself, but for everyone. And this was all under the symbol of “Love, Winning & Victory”. This gesture was implanted into the hearts of the people with his simple words and successful actions.
Throughout all of my modest design experience I could not but choose this symbol that represents “Love, Winning, and Victory”, as it represents unity and distinction, and it touches the humanitarian side of us.
A symbol that strengthens our unity, involving us all as a team, and gives us the will power to excel further.
The Shape:
I decided while designing the Logo to emphasize the blend & connectivity in the exchange of ideas within a form that is associated with and understood by all.
I noticed the geometrical designs that are based on repetitive shapes, are that they remain geometrical shapes and not more.
Also, the designs that are based on landmarks will only revolve around the landmark itself.
I wanted to contribute using a sign that hits the heart & connects to the emotion within us. A sign recognized by the young and old alike regardless of race, origin, or language.
A sign that will create a Global Fingerprint originating from a Leader with a Global Vision.
The Colors:
The mixture of colors in the Hand represents the Variety, Collaboration & unity between all ideas and understandings.
The Circle behind the Hand represents the Sun & Sands of the UAE, and it gives Hope, Strength and Compete.
Also representing the boundaries, whereas no matter how big or strong the boundaries may be, Dubai overcomes them all and exceeds expectations.
