Protest the Hero is a progressive metal band from Whitby, Ontario, Canada. As a huge fan of the band, I chose to redesign their three major studio albums I was familiar with when I found the band (Kezia [2006], Fortress [2008], and Scurrilous [2011]) in a discography set.
Protest the Hero's lyrics go far beyond superficial concerns. The five-piece band touches on deep topics, and makes wonderful music by combining their poetic lyrics with technical metal mastery. I chose to interpret the main themes from each release, doing so with a grid system that is shown on the cover of each album. Further still, I chose an icon to illustrate that would either echo the existing cover art of the album, or somehow symbolize a theme on that album.
