Symbol Nation is a photo essay that I developed for my Senior thesis at the Rhode Island School of Design. This subjective narrative that offers the reader a glimpse into my personal, imaginative journey across the America through printed pop culture and media. Symbols I focused on in print media: the flag, the urban, the circus, the automobile, the mall, the suburban, Hollywood, and the Great American West. Printed on newsprint, the faded color gives the book a more vintage-feel.
