Image Plus Text
This design was created to provide a thought provoking combination of an image with text. The image was selected based on its size and content. This image was chosen because of the mystery, metamorphic, and future possibilities often associated with a monarch chrysalis. The image was masked, enhanced, and turned into a black/white version in Photoshop. Two typefaces, Helvetica bold and Bird of Paradise, were selected because of their contrast and ability to reflect a deeper meaning within the chosen words. The text was typed on a path to follow the curve of the chrysalis curve and mimic the flight path of a butterfly. The burnt orange color was selected using the eyedropper tool within the original chrysalis photograph. In this design, the use of white space creates an emphasis on the image plus text.
