Background
These days, many children even think that the rice come from the 'rice tree', because they don't know anything about where everyday food actually came from. There are some experiential farming education and activities in school, but they are hard to keep up because of space limitation. Besides, all programs are composed of formal and boring steps which are very difficult to draw kids' attention consistently.
Solution
Yummy Farmy is educational augmented reality game on farming and cooking process. The goal of game is making kids learn the knowledge of food in a interesting way. There are various interaction missions to grow and harvest crops, and cook dishes, which are strongly funny ways to encourage kids to keep doing. Through augmented reality technology, kids can farm and cook vividly wherever and whenever they are.
Yummy Farmy has 5-6 specific steps for growing 45 crops, such as artificial pollination for a young pumpkin or watering interaction for a rice plant. In cooking process, there are 29 kinds of food which have own recipes. Kids can cook it using ingredients that they have harvested. if kids succeed in cooking, they can get food characters and collect them, which is possible to keep drawing kids’ attention.
Each food recipe has recipe share buttons which encourage kids to have real cooking experience in the real world with family. Furthermore, there is mini game for group playing. Kids can learn good teamwork by playing together for bonus crops item. Through Yummy Farmy, Kids can learn everything from the ground to the table, and experience all meaningful steps before they eat.
