So much of who we are is shaped during our childhood but we don't realize this fact until later. There's a quote by Sam Ewing that says "When you finally go back to your old home, you find it wasn't the old home you missed by your childhood." The memories are the most special posession that we get to hold on forever. A whiff of familiar scent is enough to get transported back to that time when we were surrounded by the people we loved. To me the peony is a special symbol of the women in my family: my mother, grandmothers and aunt, who shared the passion for gardening. This project is dedicated to those that I have lost over the years but have shaped the person I am today.
