Rosie Joe Residence Analysis
Sustainable Desert Project in Utah
This is a group analysis project I did in graduate school at the University of Texas at Arlington of a built sustainable dwelling in the Utah Desert.  The other members of the group were Emily Cambron, Pedro Martinez, and Jim Wiese.  The house was built by DesignBuildBLUFF with the help of students from the Univeristy of Utah's College of Architecture and was held to a budget of $30,000.  The house takes advantage of water collection, cross ventilation, sun shading, rammed earth material, as well as other factors that help it be completely self-sufficient and "off the grid."  We analyzed why this particular project was successful and how it accomplished this goal.
