sculptures in wax ( model for bronze cast)
Wax is an interesting material used from ancient times for sculpture and in other purpose. I am using wax for ideas and models to be casted in bronze in larger scale (like most of my works which are to be monumental) but they can stand also as a small works in bronze. This one piece dimension is about 36 x 21 x 10 centimeters. It's named runner as I often use running man as motive. I also find interesting to use wax in creating of muscular shapes and to put an accent on moving in the sculpture. Wax stripes onsculpture surface follow masses and shape of parts of human body. It's always important to treat surfaces in purpose of improving effect of sculpture. It's headless as I am actually exploring movement of body in space, not one particular body but universal figure. This work was created in May 2011.
