Underground Metro Station

Underground Metro Station
Architecture Project with Complex Functions
The project is located in a suburb city of Brasilia, the Guara. It consists of an underground passage that leads to the metro station. The passage resides in the division between the two parts of the city, Guara I and II, therefore, in addition to give access to the metro station, the underground passage links both parts of the city.
The area where the project is located influenced the needs program. Being an essentially residential area, the program should serve as a local attractive. Considering that a metro station isn’t a long stay location, the program adopted leads to a longer stay in the space, by inserting a public library in a residential area. The project has three stay levels. The first would be the long stay, the library, the second would be medium stay, the stores. And the last, minimum stay, the metro station itself.
The design guideline was drawn by the crossing of two axis, the program and the passage, based on the free plan and use of apparent structure.
As a manner to prolong the stay, the entrance axis goes between the two long stay zones, the stores and the library, and then the way to the station.
