The Acorn is a pendant lamp made of plywood and acrylic plastic. The acrylic is brushed from the inside to diffuse the light emitting from the bulb, while still retaining a glossy finish on the outside.
The plywood top is constructed of two parts connected by small embedded magnets. The use of magnets allows the lamp to maintain a solid appearance while shut, although it is easily disassembled in order to change a bulb.
