The project which was a part of Information Technology Program - Strategy and Experience Design Track, was completed during summer of 2015. Our 3-member-team aimed to create a responsive web mock up with a modern and professional corporate look and an intuitive web flow which allows users to browse seamlessly while enhancing Export Finland’s brand image.
 
Export Finland, as a government-funded organization, aims to help Finnish SMEs to expand their businesses by leading them to find opportunities, recognize their potential and transform them into profitable businesses. To facilitate this mission, a web presence is required. It should clearly communicate Export Finland’s brand and service offering in approachable and professional way. However, the current website was built from Export Finland’s internal view and customers’ voice was missing. Customers were not getting a clear picture of what Export Finland is and what services they offer. They were also unable to get enough information from the website, and were skipping key sections to go directly to the “contact us” page.
 
This is where we have started our project our goal for this project was to provide a clear path to expansion for Export Finland’s customers with our new web concept and design. In order to achieve this goal, we conducted extensive user research to identify their problems and key needs before we started building the new concept. We had 16 thematic interviews both with Startups and SMEs to understand what they need for internalization, and their view on the current website. Then, we continued our project with wireframing, designing the concept, realizing the mockup, storytelling and branding processes (Under NDA).
