During my final year at university I was required to produce a graphic arts research project. I spent the summer prior to my third year in the U.S.A collecting imagery of quotes people have wrote in public spaces such as bathroom stalls, bus stops, and walls. I explored 12 different states and areas of Liverpool, London, & Manchester in the UK.
I wanted to explore the reasons people write on walls and share quotes anomalously. I conclude with stressing the importance of the existence of these quotes and that the affect of them can lead to massive impacts on culture and society.
This project allowed me to meet new people, visit places, and learn new cultures I never knew about, it has had a lasting effect on the way I see things in cities and I continue to document quotes I see where ever I travel.
