NauticNuke - a hydrofoil sailboat

NauticNuke
a hydrofoil sailboat concept
Not only does this superyacht have spectacular interior design, but it also has a new external appearance. Perhaps the most striking feature, is the underwater hydrofoils that lift the multihulls one foot over the water while cruising. It may not be the fastest boat, with topspeed at 25 knots, but it is very fun to race with all the controls being accessable from the cockpit. Since the hydrofoils are underwater, this trimaran cuts the waves, has exceptional seaworthiness, and a smoth ride, with minimal pitching. The hull is likely to be a vacuum sandwich epoxy-glasfiber construction. The designer of the trimaranhull is Thomas Rafn with the rest of the NauticNuke concepts being developed in Denmark by a 3 member team: Simon Feddersen, Mads Westermann and Thomas Rafn .
