Celebrando a cidade de Braga, em 2012, a CAPITAL EUROPEIA DA JUVENTUDE a temática "What Future?" tornou-se naturalmente adequada. Em virtude desta celebração, Braga foi visitada por milhares de jovens que acorreram aos fóruns e outras atividades desenvolvidas ao longo do ano, tornando-se um epicentro preferencial para a temática eleita pelo Festival Internacional de Fotografia - Encontros da Imagem, que celebrou 2012 ano a sua 24º edição.

Facing Youth - Procurou dar uma visão abrangente da juventude europeia. Além daquela exposição encontraram-se agendadas outras exposições de jovens autores e que estiveram disseminadas em diversos espaços expositivos da cidade. Para além do vasto leque de exposições, onde se incluiu todos os países da comunidade europeia, foram agendadas um conjunto de atividades (conferências, debates, projeções, oficinas) direcionadas para o mundo juvenil, a fim de não só os levar a melhor compreender o seu staus quo, como também a propiciar momentos de lazer e ferramentas de descodificação das artes visuais atuais.
