The 21st century has all but eliminated the nine-to-five workday but the need to communicate on simple domestic matters remains. Based on mid 20th century iconography, the Domesticons are easy to discern; rendered with an icecream pastel palette on colourful squares, inspired by the aesthetic choices made popular with Monopoly. These symbols communicate the state of the dishwasher, broken appliances, or tasks that need completion, such as: wiping counters, cleaning the floor, or putting away dishes. In addition to physical icons printed on magnetic and adhesive vinyl squares, they will come with a QR code that can be redeemed for a set of emoticons for use on the internet and various phone chat applications.
