ENEL village
---
Some pictures from my first two explorations of the former Provvidenza ENEL village (Abruzzo, central Italy). Built by ENEL, the italian main electricity producer and vendor, for workers of a powerhouse in the area, was abandoned around 1999, mainly due to progressive automation of the plant. Despite its smallness, the village had a school, a church and a medical device. These are my first impressions, i.e. the descriptive part of the work. I'll go again to deepen the interpretative part of this story.

News: a selection from this series was awarded as nominee in the category photojournalism at the 2nd Fine Art Photography Awards in June, 2016.
