I sketched several ideas before deciding on "playing card" approach to the design. The idea was that the poster could be flipped upsode down and still make sense. I wanted the poster to make sense to established fans of the show rather than trying to advertise to the uninitiated so if you have not seen the show and don't want to know what happened, don't scroll down! The basic design was sketched in pencil, then when I had it the way I liked it I hand inked it and colored in using Photoshop.
