Fero
A minimal cabinet designed to age with the user
Continuing my exploration of Scandinavian inspired furniture, Fero is a cabinet that eliminates the need for pull handles through embedded disks of metal. As the name eludes, the cabinet is reliant on the ferrous nature of steel and the use of a rare-earth magnet to open the drawers. Rather than using traditional wood veneer I use leather to show wear and passage of time. The users hands and magnet mark the surface in the act of opening each drawer over the course of the lifetime of the user.
