Absent minded
i have just started a new series of works in oil paint
this time about women portraits in a reflexive pose.
this is my first attempt.
"We both started a conversation without words. I’m here... but did she even notice? Is she trying to avoid me?
What is she looking at? I'm trying to unmask her thoughts, while I start to contour her face all around the canvas... she rests still on the ground but she only exists for another place.
I'm eclipsed by her presence, trying hard to figure it out where else she could be.
If she is not here, who is the one in front of me?
I wondered while I was blocking out the figure. This is the portrait of someone who is not here! She is only
here in flesh and bone. Like a empty vessel set in a still life composition.
The final painting on the canvas also is not her. Only my eyes could tell ...
as long as I fell overwhelmed by all those questions I thought I'm not here either."
