Brief: Create a cover design for the book "Triangulation - Repères Pour des Temps Incertains". The so called triangle in the title is: Politics In France, geopolitics and economy, based on philosophical and abstract thoughts by the author Michel Drac.
Concept: In trigonometry and geometry, triangulation is the process of determining the location of a point by measuring angles to it from known points at either end of a fixed baseline, rather than measuring distances to the point directly (trilateration). The point can then be fixed as the third point of a triangle with one known side and two known angles. This led to the idea of using an old image of an equilateral triangle which all three sides are equal. This representing the symbiosis between politics, geopolitics and economy. And as France is the country the book is about, the cityscape of Paris became part of the visual focal point of the cover. The orange gradience adds to a strong cover that stands out in combination with the black headings and copy on the cover. This solution still carries the abstract topic and creates attention on what this book might be about.
