OPPORTUNITY:
Design an interactive website for a given song. The express purpose of the site will be to convey the meaning of or capture the emotional feeling of the song, using only the song’s lyrics as content. This may be done abstractly or in a straightforward way.
SOLUTION:
I was given the song "Saturday's a Celebration" By Big K.R.I.T. Throughout the song there are undertones of loss, hope, redemption, and ultimately purpose. Whenever we experience a moment in life in which we are losing something, whether that be a loved one, a friend, a part of ourselves, we question the purpose of that friendship or experience. This is what leads people to hope in something bigger than them. I wanted to show a series of seemingly unrelated events that have, in their own time, a great deal of loss, pain, and hopelessness. But as you travel through the song and through space, you begin to see these events connect and show how these events were always meant to be. When the viewer sees the big picture, they are left with redemption, hope, and ultimately purpose.
