-프롤로그

"사자왕 리처드"는 오랜 원정 전쟁중에 왕의 자리를 탐내던 동생 "존왕자"의 음모로
전장에서 전투에 임하기 전 독이든 술잔을 들이키고만다. 각혈을 하며 쓰러진 사자왕은
존 왕자의 짓임을 직감하고 죽기직전 자신의 가족의 안위를 반드시 지켜주길 바라는 유언을 자신의 호위대장인 "마샬"에게 남기고 눈을 감는다.
왕의 서거소식과 함께 왕국은 존왕자의 손아귀에 완전히 넘어갔고 왕의 부고소식과 왕관을 왕국에 전달한 마샬은 그날 밤
삼엄한 경비를 뚫고 리차드왕의 아들을 목숨을 걸고 빼내어 왕국을 벗어난다.
그 소식을 전해들은 존 왕자는 형의 적통인 왕자를 아무도 모르게 은밀히 제거할수있는 절호의 기회라 생각하며 추격대를 보낸다.
한편 셔우드 숲 근방
로빈은 수도사 터크와 셔우드 숲 근방에서 비박을 하던 중 멀리서 들려오는 말발굽소리에 잠을 깬다,
정체를 알 수 없는 괴한들에게서 필사적으로 달아나는 소년을 구하게 되고 그 소년의 정체를 알게 되면서 이야기는 시작된다.
후에 셔우드 숲의 유령들이라 불리우는 마리온의 무리와 리틀 존 형제들과 조우 존왕자의 폭정에 저항하게된다.

-prologue
Richard the Lionheart' drinks a poisonous shot before the battle, due to the conspiracy by 'Prince John', a brother of Richard who has wanted to be the king during the long expedition.
The Lionheart collapses and vomites blood, and noticed that Prince John did it. He leaves a will that he hopes Marshall, his guard leader, keeps the king's family safe and passes away.
As the king's death is announced, John takes over the kingdom.
At night Marshall goes through the guards and takes the son of the Lion King, then escapes from the kingdom after he has announced the king's death and given his crown to the kingdom.
Prince John gets to hear that and thinks that it is a great opportunity to get rid of the prince, who is the main line of the king's descent, so he sends for pursuers.
Meanwhile, Robin and Turk, a monk, are on a bivouac near Sherwood Forest and they wake up by the distant sound of the horses' hoofs.
They save a boy who was desperately running away from unidentified assailants and the story begins as they get to know who the boy is.
Later Robin meets Marion party, that lives in Sherwood Forest, and brothers of Little John, and they all fight back against the tyranny of Prince John.
