January 8, 2016, died an icon of international music: David Bowie.
Eccentric, visionary and innovator, "The Thin White Duke" has spanned five decades of rock music, reinventing excellently his style and image becoming an immortal legend of all time.
This is my personal tribute to this great star.
L' 8 gennaio 2016, è morta un'icona della musica internazionale: David Bowie.
Eccentrico, visionario e innovatore, il "Duca Bianco" ha attraversato cinque decenni della musica rock, reinventando egregiamente lo stile e l'immagine, diventando una leggenda immortale di tutti i tempi.
Questo è il mio personale omaggio a questa grande stella.

Eccentrico, visionario e innovatore, il "Duca Bianco" ha attraversato cinque decenni della musica rock, reinventando egregiamente lo stile e l'immagine, diventando una leggenda immortale di tutti i tempi.
Questo è il mio personale omaggio a questa grande stella.
CONCEPT
I was inspired by the cover of Aladdin Sane, Bowie album that came out to RCA in 1973.
When you think of the Thin White Duke, can not come up with this cover; The photo of Brian Duffy, shows the artist's naked body, with lightning painted on the face by Pierre La Roche, the makeup artist staff of Bowie, in this image became an icon, the artist makes it seem an alien, a cyborg asexual seems out by the best science fiction films of the 70s / 80s.
This picture has always fascinated me, as well as the title of the disc itself.
The title is actually a play on words: healthy Aladdin (Aladdin sane) becomes A lad insane (a crazy guy).
I love the story of Aladdin, a poor young man who after finding the magic lamp, become rich, she marries a princess and defeat the evil wizard; I find that the tale can be a metaphor for the life of all those who find themselves in the midst of a thousand vicissitudes of life and do your own talent and treasure their trump card to build their own success.
I see myself also in the concept of "boy crazy", because I find that a bit 'of madness is necessary in life, which is nothing but the courage to get out of the rules imposed by the flock, which limit the potential of the individual, the creativity of everyone .

Ho preso ispirazione dalla cover di Alladin Sane, album di Bowie che uscì per RCA nel 1973.
Quando si pensa al Duca Bianco, non può non venire in mente questa copertina; La foto di Brian Duffy, mostra l'artista a corpo nudo, con un fulmine dipinto sul viso da Pierre La Roche, il make up artist personale di Bowie che, in questa immagine diventata icona, fa sembrare l'artista un alieno, un cyborg asessuato che pare uscito dalle migliori pellicole di fantascienza anni '70/'80.
Questa foto mi ha sempre affascinato, così come il titolo del disco stesso.
Il titolo è infatti un gioco di parole: Aladdin sane (Aladino sano di mente) diventa A lad insane (un ragazzo pazzo).
Adoro la storia di Aladino, un giovane povero che dopo aver trovato la lampada magica, diventa ricco, sposa una principessa e sconfigge il mago cattivo; Trovo che la fiaba possa essere una metafora della vita di tutti coloro che trovano se stessi in mezzo alle mille vicissitudini della vita e fanno del proprio talento il proprio tesoro e la propria carta vincente per costruirsi il proprio successo.
Mi rivedo anche nel concetto di "ragazzo pazzo", perchè trovo che un po' di follia sia necessaria nella vita, che altro non è che il coraggio di uscire dalle regole imposte dal gregge, che limitano le potenzialità del singolo, la creatività di ognuno.

Per me l'arte non è una cosa di questo pianeta, quindi considero ogni artista una specie di alieno; David Bowie, nella sua unicità a 360°, era un marziano, sceso sulla terra per colorare i muri della nostra esistenza e poi abbatterli, lasciandone a terra soltanto una polvere arcobaleno.
Non è un caso che uno dei brani icona di Bowie, sia "Life On Mars?", contenuta nel suo quarto album "Hunky Dory", del 1971.
Questa è stata un'altra fonte d'ispirazione per la realizzazione della stampa.
Infine il titolo, "There's Life On Mars", è proprio una risposta alla domanda titolo della canzone: "Si, per me c'è vita su Marte".
Ora che il Duca Bianco se n'è andato fisicamente da qui, sono sicuro che sarà nello spazio, sarà tornato a casa, dal pianeta da cui è venuto.
