Editorial : U-chen Script

Above is the cover of my editorial which bears a paper cut symbol representing a Tibetan Om.
I prepared 8 handles for every page. The bells used are commonly found in buddhist culture. It evens gives my editorial a serene sound.
When you flip the pages of the script and put them together they form an image. The design is in essence a mandala using the colours of Tibetan prayer flags each color holds a meaning. Why is the design segmented you ask? That is because this project got me reading a lot about tibetan history, culture and politics and in the face of an unfortunate yet very real dissolution of tibetan culture, i was keen on representing this reality and preserving the culture in this project.
Above are 8 pages in the U-Chen script of the Tibetan language , the name means "with a head". It is a script used for formal writing and printing. The script is translated to the hindi alphabet, vowels and numerals.
What the book looks like. The dimensions of the cover and the pages are inspired by tibetan ancient scriptures. The colour of the cover can be commonly seen in traditional tibetan houses.
And i even got to make a ring out of the leftovers!
