Tricks of The Restaurant Trade titles
From the ‘golden table’ to upselling, this new series for Channel 4 exposes the various techniques employed by restaurants to maximise profits and keep us coming back for more.
Produced by London production company betty, Pete&Tom created the identity and a suite of graphic elements for the series including an animated title sequence, stings, bumpers, topic cards and aston panels.
Taking various buzz words and phrases from the restaurant trade as a starting point, we built a photographic tabletop strewn with dishes and tableware to surround the animated text as we journey through to the title. Set in a variety of distinctive fonts, the title design reflects the broad spectrum of restaurants that are now commonplace on the high street.
