Background

Thanks to its project area Children's Heart ("Cuore di Bimbi"), Mission Bambini Foundation aim to cure children with congenital heart diseases and to save their lives.

The month of February has always been regarded as the Heart Month: indeed, 14th February is the Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day (a day for hearts to be treated) and at the same time Valentine's Day (a day for beating hearts).
Therefore, it has always been a fitting opportunity to raise awareness about congenital heart deseases and to raise funds for the "Cuore di Bimbi" project.

The goal

In February 2021 Mission Bambini has combined the social cause of saving children with heart diseases and its symbol (heart) with another social cause: the environmental sustainability.

The message is that the healed heart, the life saved through a donation, will be represented by a plant. Infact, the Foundation will plant several trees in the more urbanized areas of Milan, while the donor can grow a small plant at home thanks to the reward (a box with seeds to plant).

A lung for everyone, a heart for us.

To communicate this message we have choosen a bold headline (A lung for everyone, a heart for us.) with a very simple key visual (forest, green, trees).

Infact, in Italy green spots are also called "city's lung", so where everyone can see a lung, we can see also a heart. We have spam this message on social media and on our fundraising platform.

The box

Thanks to a collaboration with treedom.net, with a minimum donation of 10€, the donors could receive a small box with seeds to grow a little plant directly at home.

Partnership

To share the message we have entered into a partnership with Io Donna, a famous Italian magazine, and with Daniele Tarenzi aka "Papàimperfetto", a lifestyle influencer.
