Limited Edt x adidas Consortium "BATIK" Pack ( Superstar 80v | ZX Flux )
Singapore celebrates 50 years of independence in 2015.
This release is Limited Edt and adidas’s contribution to commemorate the Golden Jubilee.
For this pack, we looked into the traditional batik that is unique of the SEA regions. The patterns are created in an intricate process whereby colors are applied in multiple cycles of painting, dyeing, and rinsing. Leaving aside this costly and time-consuming technique, I focused on the distinctive designs and created a custom floral pattern incorporating Singapore's national flower, an orchid, the adidas Trefoil, and the store's own emblem.
The prints are evident on the ZX Flux, while on the Superstar, they were only applied on the tongue and the inner lining.
