The idea behind Masala Darbar are the 7 spices of Darbar which is mean to represent the 7 women of Darbar, which means royal palace. The main idea behind the design was to create a window which many palaces Mughal Empire use to have through which women would peek through. The term Masala Darbar is a representation of Indian spices that come is powdered form. The illustration from the packages has been taken from an Artist “Hajra Mansoor” who gave me the permission to manipulate and use her paintings , it was her illustrations that became the base of the inspiration and theme behind doing a line of packages.
