Children's Book Fan Art

I wanted to pay homage to the children book author/illustrators that I grew up on and inspired me. I try to keep true to the original art, but slanting it toward my personal signature. Most of the original images were single pages or spot art, I transformed them all into a cinimatic 16:9 format.
Of course, no list is complete without Maurice Sendak. Max in his wolf suit as the forest grew ...and grew, is by far the most iconic image for me. Although re-doing such a loved work is not without fears. Let me know how this rendention meets your demands.
Okay. The must have Dr. Seuss. The biggest challenge was figuring out a landscape arrangement.
"It is hot out here in the sun."
"It is not hot here under the house."
Huckle and Lowly Worm help Sergeant Murphy chase the naughty banana thief.
Toad has been plagued by worries of why Frog might be late. Toad runs out into the wintery night to save Frog from all the horrors he imagines only to meet Frog arriving late because he was wrapping Toad's gift.
Here are the original references for comparison.
Janitor Joe working in the strong winds of March.
iPad sketch to see how closely I could mimic the bunny from The Golden Egg Book. I was pleasantly surprised, it doesn't feel too digital to me.
