Safa Bank started its journey after it was established as a public shareholding company in 2016 by a group of companies, large organizations, and other leading legal and natural persons. The Bank initiated its operations in the Palestinian market on the 22nd of September 2016 as a banking institution that offers services that comply with the regulations of the holy Islamic Sharia.

The Bank’s capital is 75,000,000 US Dollars. Safa Bank’s main objective is to meet the needs of the Palestinian market through its Islamic banking services and products, which eliminates the use of interests of any type and form. In addition, the Bank offers financing and investment services and develops new methods for attracting funds and savings, to contribute to productive investment using banking methods and tools that do not contradict the regulations of Islamic Sharia, as the Bank’s operations are all performed under the supervision of the Sharia Supervisory Committee which works to guarantee that all products and services conform with the regulations of the Islamic Sharia.

Brand Concept

The brand identity should reflect the cultural values and personality of the firm. There are several religious sites that are considered of high importance to the Islamic nation, Al Ka'aba is considered one of the most sacred spots on earth for Muslims and thus was considered the basis of our visual concept.

Visual Research

The brand identity should reflect the cultural values and personality of the firm. There are several religious sites that are considered of high importance to the Islamic nation, Al Ka'aba is considered one of the most sacred spots on earth for Muslims and thus was considered the basis of our visual concept.

The logo is inspired by the name Safa, which is a place located in Masjid Al Haram in Mecca, pilgrims go back and forth between Al Safa and Al Marwa as part of the pilgrimage rituals. The most sacred place for Muslims is Al Ka'aba, which is also found in Masjid Al Haram. We took the shape of Al Ka'aba as the base of the logo, and rotated it from different angles creating an arabesque pattern. In addition to that, and being inspired by the Quranic verse: بسمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَى بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا، إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ

We thought of bringing the Dome of the Rock and embed it in the arabesque pattern leading to this logo. Even though, this logo has an Islamic arabesque pattern, it remains modern and copes with the global trends. Colors: dark purple resembles success, and promotes the idea of creativity and innovation. The use of gold on the other hand gives a feel of royalty and class. Moreover, it was taken in consideration that these two colors have never been used before in Palestine.

Tagline

Tagline We thought of the word "بركة" because it means bless, and people tend to follow the Islamic Shari'a to bless every aspect of their life, and lead a good one. We added the word "خير" to indicate that Safa Bank will provide the best Islamic services among its competitors in the Islamic banking industry.
