Copia - Learning Management Tool

User Flow for both Instructor and Student Views
There are two main users for the Copia learning managment tool (LMT) application. The instructor and the Student. In order to design the application, I had to create an overall user flow for both users. I also needed to know where the information was coming from and being sent. Creating this flow helped architect the overall design which I was then able to hone in on at a more detail level later on.
A wireframe of the the books section of the app in the instructor's view. The UI designs changed a bit from this initial view but the general idea of information remained intact.

Instructor view of the library. Because Apple makes 30% of a sale if a purchase is done within an app, Copia wanted to go around that fee. So when the user presses "download" next to a book, they are instructed to go outside of the app to the Copia marketplace to purchase a book. When that book is purchased under the user's account, the book will then download automaticall directly in their app the next time they launch the app and are connected to the internet.
I did some resarch on this and it's not uncommon. Audible (owned by Amazon), also does this. They will not let you download a book within the app because they do not want to give Apple 30% fo the fee. Makes sense!
