CONTEXT
In 2011, Renault car manufacturer decides to invest in carsharing by creating two services:
- One for the general public : Twizy Way by Renault
- The other for professionals : Fleet car sharing
By launching these two proof of concept, Renault also wanted to study the economic values of these new business models
ROLE
From March 2011 to October 2012, I have worked among Renault marketing team for the design of Twizy Way by Renault.
Challenges of my intervention were to contribute to the design of a user friendly and homogeneous service by creating:
- On-board interfaces (hardware buttons and vocal HMI)
- Off-board interfaces (website, smartphone application for iOS and Android, digital kiosk interface, RFID card reader, stickers)
RESEARCH & EXPLORATION
At the beginning of the project, we first try to define users needs. To do this with made user interviews. Based on these interviews we created various personae representing segments of users and experience maps to target points of contact, pains and gains.
We also conducted a market research to highlight similar services. Then we tested and evaluated these services with an evaluation matrix created by us.

IDEATION
Because we were working on an entire service, we had to imagine to design many different interfaces such as :
- Iphone and Android
- Website
- Digital kiosk
- Vocal HMI of the vehicle ( because yes... the car was talking !!)
- Hardware buttons inside the vehicle
- Print interfaces such as stickers on the vehicle
For each interfaces we made wireframes and prototypes. We also wrote documentation such as detailed specifications.

USER TESTS
We manage to make as many user tests as possible for each interface to confirm or deny our design hypotheses.
ENDING
Twizy way by Renault was launched in septembre 2012 in the agglomeration of Saint Quentin en Yvelines near Paris.
The service remained operational for two years before being shut down.
