This was a project I made during my time studying Product Design in A-level. The entire coffee table was hand made and built by myself during that time, and I now have it in use at home.

The use of flexible plywood made it possible to create this style, and also complements the white veneered MDF. Reasoning behind using a veneered material was to make it easy to wipe clean, removing the issue of for example stains having an effect on the apperance. I also wanted to create a coffee table that offered great storage potential for the user.
The idea behind having an oval design was to maximise the floor space and making it easier for people to move around the coffee table to the sofas behind.
