I looked at traditional African influences, such as colour, texture and form. The spatial design layout has been created accordingly. The flow of the layout is very organic. The circular undulations of the counter design, desks,auditorium, and bench style seating is reproduced from influences such as African Huts, positioned in their rural tribal homelands in repetitive circular kraal- like layouts.
Where applicable the wooden flooring has been kept in its original state. Texture and colour contributing to the outdoor ethnic feel.Where a needed, a lovely reconstituted Evenaged oak is used manufactured in Italy from poplar grown in agricultural plantations and timbers grown in sustained yield forests.
To create a feeling of luxury and comfort, carpeting has been introduced. The design of the carpet has been selected for its free flowing tree branch effect.It undulates around the curved borders. The background colour is black and the branch colour is a muted sisal colour. Replicating the ochre tones used throughout the room.
