The Phantom Tollbooth book jacket

The Phantom Tollbooth
book jacket
For word and image class sophomore year we were able redesigned abook jacket of our choice. I considered several books and after much research settled on The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. While I loved the original illustrations done by Jules Feiffer, no one had done a new illustrated cover for the story since the 60's. They reprinted the book when the movie version came out with the actors on the cover, but that was in the 70's and I wanted to bring fresh new life to this timeless children's novel.

Norton Juster's story of Milo and Tock's travels through the Kingdom of Wisdom was always a childhood favorite. Children's books are largely responsible for the creative direction I have taken life and I'll always have a deep respect for writers like Norton Juster, Roald Dahl and E.B. White. They taught me to embrace the weird, to never accept boredom and to explore imagination.
