Selected submissions
A two year part-time course I undertook whilst still working four days a week at Archant. The course was based around three units, the below submissions are a selection of work from each unit including the final outcomes.
Final outcome: A poster showing the result of the graphic design system in action. Each spiral shows an instrument in the arrangement of a piece of music and the amount of time it is audible in the track.
Final outcome 2: A second poster showing the result of the graphic design system in action. Each spiral shows an instrument in the arrangement of a piece of music and the amount of time it is audible in the track.
Final outcome 3: A series of record sleeves for which the graphic design system is centred around. The illustration on the front cover is the result of the generative system in action. Each sleeve will produce a completely different pattern and act as a style for a series of sleeve designs for a record label.
Tired of writing zeros, my submission for the Letterpress Typography elective. The piece is a response to a given number, in my case 10. The brief asked that I created a response exploring the meaning of the number in ways I choose to interpret.
Design & Rhetoric (Unit 2) final outcome: This poster is a response to the brief set by myself to conduct a series of experiments taking photographs whilst listening to a piece of music.
Design Literacy (Unit 1) Final outcome. This poster is a response to the meaning of the shape of a triangle. My design research into the shape quickly took me to ideas of 'Love triangle' then to Freudian theory and finally to the films of Alfred Hitchcock. The final poster is a selection of frames from the final 7 seconds of every sence in The Birds.
