Milano. What else? (IED Milano)

Reinterpretation of new skyline of Milan through the famous capsules of Nespresso coffee. The work is based on geometrical process: starting from a simple element different patterns are generated. All these patterns are applied to the skyline in order to create the new advertisement for new EXPO 2015 opening in Milan.

The idea comes from the historical analysis of architecture in Milan. It was immediate the link between the brick, cornerstone of the most important monuments of the city, and the Nespresso capsule, essence of the company. From this was born the project "Milan, what else?": starting from a capsule we have generated a fractal geometry in constant evolution that could be modified with small changes, depending on the taste and identity. Small changes were enough to generate significant effects on the structure, in a crescendo of colors and patterns. Each pattern was associated with a keyword, to make it more simple and direct. Finally we designed several installations in different scales to increase the visual and emotional impact.
