UAE Mobile Apps & Websites

'Marhaban' which means 'Hello' in Arabic.

My experience with UI/UX of mobile apps in UAE began in 2012, when I started working in TACME. As in the beginning (i)phone screens were smaller, android didn't have any visible design standards or patterns and everything was shining and glossy. Most of the projects I got my hands on were directly government or government related entities, as it was our rich client base.

Since I started working on more and more of government projects I started noticing most of their branding looks quite similar. They all belong to an umbrella branding style where the main entity has one main logo and subsequent departments mostly change only the name in the logo. Thus most of the branding is derived from a central one. These entities worked under same control also. But the digital scene was a bit different. Due to the participation of a lot of agencies over the course of time, everyone did their experiments with UI and UX, may be the then contemporary styles have affected all of them.

In the course of my work from 2012 I tried my best to extend that branding to UI UX, to make a unified sense in experience.

Ajman Municipality and Planning Department

About
Ajman is on of the 7 emirates in U.A.E. This application was made for the administrative body of the main city / municipality. It was kind of hard to put together this design since the application offered a multitude of services and there was little designs to follow online to get an idea about the client's branding in user interfaces. After too many ideations n' iterations came to this style which incorporated the local styles and friendly UX.
