"Urban Shadows" is an on going project of images taken in the hours of darkness or the dawn light. I love the combination of shadows and pools of light cast from the street lamps. Most of these photographs were taken in, and around my home town of Scarborough. North Yorkshire. England. All images were processed in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.
All these images are for sale.

Quay Street.
Situated in the "old town" Scarborough.
This "beamed" property stands on the junction with Whitehead Hill
in a quiet backwater just a few yards from the harbour.
Custom House Steps.
Photographed from the junction with Quay Street,
The steps are well worn from centuries of fishermen and sailor's
ascending and decending with produce from and to the harbour.
Waterhouse Lane.
Situated in the town centre and just off the main shopping precinct is this lovely lane.
This end of the lane is accessed through a wide passageway under the buildings
on St Thomas street, and this is where I stood, out of the evening downpour.
Whitehead Hill.
Ascending from Quay street up to East Sandgate is this cobbled hill.
Ending in a flight of steps, it lends it's self to a nice scene for photography.
The property on the right is not a very old building, but is built in a style
complementary to the area.
Alma Square.
Situated across the road from the town's railway station is this beautiful
urban square. Most of the properties are hotel's, B&B's  or private flats.
In the centre is this duck pond with fountains spraing for effect.
A beautiful scene in the first light of day as the sky lightens in the east
behind the station clock tower.
