To design a residential building comprising a semi-basement, 3 levels above ground and an attic. Located on Av.Regimentului in Bucharest, Romania, a city which is inevitably characterized by a strong post-war communistic influence. Such influence was initiated by the leader Nicolae Ceaușescu who demolished and reconstructed parts of the city in order to make way for his megalomaniac plans.

 

After the establishment of communism, the city continued growing at a fast pace. New districts were constructed, most of them dominated by tower blocks characterized by repeitive elements.  Thus, this project takes the opportunity to create something different and refreshing. Rather than creating a space to house the people from the rapidly growing life in the city, it aims to create a place which gives the residents a pleasure to live in it.
