I worked on this annual report for VSO International’s Philippine office with my friend Nikki Victoria. We had also designed the previous report, which had a playful, vibrant look. For the 2010 edition, though, the client wanted a visual direction that was more structured and formal, without being cold or devoid of personality. It was a fun challenge. 

While we had to follow VSO’s brand guidelines back then (including the polaroid-style treatment for photos that didn’t bleed), we were still able to create a distinct look for this report. Nikki set the visual tone with a light, airy palette, along with a hand-drawn illustration for the cover, which I later had to redraw in Adobe Illustrator for visual consistency with the interior pages. I then designed and refined interior layout elements, including infographics. — August–October 2010
