Web publishing is a powerful tool: it provides a channel to express yourself, debate subjects close to your expertise, and investigate those areas of your business and life that ultimately define who you are and what you do.
Professor Stefanos Demertzis is the Deputy Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Cardiocentro Ticino (Lugano) and Associate Professor at the University of Bern. When it comes to hearts, he’s an expert. He knew that he could provide a valuable service to cardiology by creating an online channel to share and discuss reliable information about heart medicine and the cardiovascular system, aimed at the whole spectrum of people with whom he regularly interacts: patients, health professionals, medical students, and the interested public. So he came to Ander Group.
We began by creating a name and logo, summing up the blog’s intentions in a subtle play on words, “HeartMatters.” The client wanted the logo to work as an advertising tool, so we included the URL Professor Demertzis’ name: the blog and its author’s identities will themselves send people to the website. The logo’s design allows it to adapt easily to the site’s responsive design as well as providing a creative asset for print communications and corporate identity.
We categorised each blog entry so that it is clearly targeted to the appropriate group of users, avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach. The site is fully responsive, delivering an optimised experience no matter what device it is accessed on: desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile. We translate every post into both English and Italian and, to ensure the message goes social, we built in a function that allows the publisher to share the blog’s content automatically on Facebook and LinkedIn. By attention to detail, we are able to deliver a complete package that combines clarity and flexibility to convey important messages.
