Back to Βasics / Silkscreen Workshop

"Back to Βasics" Silkscreen Workshop

Spreading the word of silkscreen is essential for us.
Doing so this year we also organized and taught a free workshop at Synergastirion.

The brief given:
--
The Synergastirion team invites you to participate in an experimental printing workshop engaging the art of Silkscreen Printing.

The first prints by man, with a historical record, were made by hands on the walls of caves. By touching their hand and by blowing colour with their mouth, they left their mark in space and in time. Today we invite you to leave your own mark by printing with us a collectible series of posters using the basic principles of Silkscreen Printing. Letting your imagination lead you, you will cut paper forms and together we will create an improvised screen for silkscreen printing, with which we will print your own design on paper and other suitable surfaces.

The workshop will take place on Sunday April 26th in 8 wonderful groups for 1 person, from 14:00 until 22:00.

It is imperative to declare your participation and your preferred time by April 15th, to the email workshops@synergastirion.gr. First come, first served.

The participants are required to bring with them:
- Scissors or craft knife
- Writing or photocopy paper or alternatively vinyl sticker sheets
20 sheets of paper 25x35cm, 240-300g weight, with light colours
- You may also bring other materials such as fabric, t-shirts, bags, wood. All the surfaces should be smooth without any impediments (such as a button on a bag) The choice of colours and guidance in printing will take place in collaboration with the printer Manolis Angelakis / tind (www.tind.gr)

The workshop is catered for adults
