With many banks on the market offering much the same service if not better BMI needed to use branding to become 
a strong competitor. With this in mind and the changing attitudes of the consumer (era of choice, ethical options, climate change concerns) BMI needed a different strategy that appealed to the peoples constantly changing attitudes. Consumers are now looking to buy products and use services that reflect their own personality e.g. Apple, Sony, Starbucks.
Being well aware that people are often very dubious and sensitive when it comes to banking, a large percentage of customers don’t even like or trust banks and see them as large old fashioned institutions. We had the opportunity to tap into the consumer brand and reposition BMI as the consumers bank, a brand that expresses their needs and that partners with them not controls them. 
 
BMI was born from the aspirations of Bank Muscat international.
BMI’s birth is the result of the merger of a unique set of individuals and circumstances driven by the extraordinary powerful combination of vision and faith – in BMI and in tomorrow and an unquenchable determination to survive and succeed.
